Shake The Tree Farm

At Shake The Tree Farm we currently offer rabbit meat year-round, as well as strawberries, and raspberries during the summer and fall. Our rabbits are raised on organic alfalfa pellets, local no-spray hay and given access to tree branch cuttings and fresh greens through “rabbit tractors” where they are moved to new pasture daily. In the future we will be offering duck eggs, lamb meat, and fresh chestnuts and hazelnuts.

Our mission is to create a thriving land-based business, by growing food in perennial crop systems, producing pasture-raised meat using rotational grazing to mimic the natural movement of animals on the land, and provide educational and therapeutic experiences for people on this beautiful land we now call home. We are producing high quality food for our region, enhancing the productivity of the land for ourselves and wildlife. We are make lasting connections with our neighbors and friends by sharing experiences and food.

We are in the beginning stages of establishing a Chestnut & Hazelnut Sylvopasture orchard that will one day host pick-your-own nuts, and provide shade and extra forage for our sheep & ducks.
